The “Dominican Truth” Vs Republican reality of response to mutilated and violated Gaza’s Children

The world is silent or immobilised from complicity and fear as Israel unleashes its darkness on children in Palestine, yet the children retained their light. A child beaming with a smile for the joy of having a doll, which she can’t hug as Israel’s violence had robbed her of her arms. Yet, she responds with an innocent smile at the world, which only watched in silence as darkness was thrown at her.

Dominican way of life focuses on contemplation and action, seeking truth and sharing the fruits of search with others. This process calls for changing social reality based on truth and contemplation. This is what is clearly absent in US State Department’s present call to halt process of issuing visas to visitors from Gaza including children in need for medical care [2].

The sudden move is traced back to recent post by Republican activist on X social networking site, where she indicates her concern for US government issuing temporary visas to individuals from Gaza including children in Gaza seeking medical care in US. According to her all individuals who come on temporary visas from Gaza, including children seeking medical care are present or future terrorist and she clubs them all as “terrorist invaders”.

It is interesting to note that she has been trained at Barry University, which one of the educational institutes run by Dominican Nuns, as part of spreading the strength in Dominican way of life along with mainstream education. Yet, the training at Barry University did not cut through to bring in study and contemplation in Republican Laura Loomer’s approach to life.

The Republicans under US President Donald Trump are not only redefining Democracy and process of its implementation they are also redefining Christianity and the Christian way of Life. It is for the absence of truth, study and contemplation, that the right-wing activist got support for national and international governance intervention based on a simple biased prejudiced post on X [3]. That speaks volumes on US state of Governance, at present. The US President is making clear his contempt not just for Democracy but Christianity as well.

There is another aspect to this reality which will be interesting as it unveils. This is SCOTUS's response to the course of events, for it would be clear proof of its complicity to Israel’s war crimes and acts of genocide. For a simple documentation of socio-medical history of children from Gaza, seeking medical treatment in US would reveal a complex reality of war crimes and acts against humanity. Just focusing on a) social context, providing descriptive facts on reality of instances which led them to be injured,  b) the history of medical care received and denied in Palestine because of contextual reality, and c) social context of the children and their families would together go a long way to indicate war crimes committed in Gaza by Israel and with US support given to Israel to sustain these war crimes. It will highlight the layered false narrative US has been building and asserting at UN when US Ambassadors blocked calls for ceasefire at UN and all the while denying scope for war crimes, acts against humanity and genocide by Israel. Such a documentation would induce the need for SCOTUS to act, for evidence would be objective, measurable and links to violence and war crimes clear. It would require SCOTUS to take a stand and respond, or it can ignore and be complicit in war crimes and other acts of genocide committed by Israel in Gaza, as the US government is.

Under such circumstance the denial of medical care for children in Gaza would be an admission to complicity with Israel by US Institutions of Justice.
