If Targeted killing is the international legal way forward, why shouldn’t Genocidal leaders in Israel be the next Target? Justice can’t be selective?

 Yesterday, Israel bombed and killed five individuals in Beirut and injured 28 individuals, Israel justified it as targeted killing, as it killed Hezbollah leader. Israel called it a Precision strike. Interestingly, DW news calls the bombing and killing of Lebanese in South Lebanon as “Israel has carried out a strike in Lebanon”.

This is one small instance on how Western media facilitates Genocidal Impunity of Israel and Israelis. A strike as per dictionary means “hit forcibly and deliberately with one’s hand or a weapon or other implement.

Yes, strike is used as military term when there is a war, and it means a sudden attack typically a military one. But Israel has a ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah and Lebanon since November 2024. There is no war happening between Israel and Lebanon. But the West and UN seemed to have sanctioned Israel the Genocidal state the right to kill all members of any resistance of armed group it disagrees with in the region. It seems all this is part of US President’s Peace strategy for the region, for there isn’t a murmur from him, only regular supply of arms to Israel.

When will the countries in the region learn that Israel has no plans for peace, it is using the support of US to take over the region with threat of force. There is no diplomacy happening, there is only Coercive diplomacy, Big Stick diplomacy that is happening in the region. Along with it there is Secret Diplomacy between US and Israel or is EU also part of it. This will never bring peace to the region. Each country in the region tries to be in the good books of US President and assumes his protection will bring peace to the region, that is naïve and foolish. US President is creating chaos in his own country across States; he has no idea about peace or peace strategy.

If the countries in the region sanction Israel, there is no way the West can give cart blanche to Israel to do what it pleases in the region. Besides, when Israel has carried out genocide, can any of the trade dealing with it be valid, legally?

Sanction Israel for peace in the region.
